Views from the veranda and interiors favor the lush, ivy covered grounds studded with pines and stands of bamboo, with a background of western hills. Finishes inside and outside the house employ the best natural and sustainable materials. 1893 Kaweah, like all Haiku Houses, uses wood products harvested only from managed, renewable forests, never from old growth or endangered rain forests. Upon harvesting, the sites are promptly replanted. 1893 Kaweah uses only California Clear All-Heart Redwood for interior and exterior walls.
